COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

We Are All In This Together!

I am committed to doing everything I can to protect your health during treatment. This includes following up-to-date CDC guidelines. I respect my patients and will inform them if I am feeling sick or have had a known possible exposure to COVID-19. In return, I ask for your understanding if your appointment should need to be canceled on short notice.

For everyone’s safety, I ask that you please follow the guidelines below.

Scheduling & Pre-Arrival

  • All treatments are by appointment only and spaced so that there is not more than one patient in the office suite at a time.
  • Due to enhanced cleaning procedures, fewer appointment slots are available. Scheduling well ahead of your preferred day or time is highly recommended.
  • Reminder text or email messages will be sent to confirm not only your appointment date and time but also to check that you do not have symptoms of COVID-19. PLEASE respond to the message to confirm your appointment and to confirm that you are symptom-free.
  • There is no cancellation fee due to illness.
  • You may NOT come in for your appointment if you have a cough, fever, runny nose, chills, or any symptoms associated with COVID-19. A telemedicine visit will be offered instead.
  • Please ensure that I have the most up-to-date contact information for you, both email and cell phone number. This is important in the case of my own illness or the need for contact tracing.

Arrival

****You must wear a mask upon entering the building and for the duration of your visit. Please follow posted signs in the building to maintain safe social distance****

  • If you do not have a mask one will be provided to you for a nominal fee.
  • Masks should cover the nose and mouth securely. Please no bandanas or gaiters.
  • Please text or call me at 215-559-4655 from the parking lot to alert me that you have arrived for your appointment. This will ensure that patients do not overlap and I have enough time to sanitize before your arrival.
  • If you need to be accompanied to your appointment, you can have one chaperone who may wait in the car.  No one may wait in the reception area of the office suite. There is no longer furniture in the lobby.
  • Wall-mounted hand sanitizers are installed in the upstairs lobby across from the elevator and in the downstairs lobby by the front door for your convenience.
  • The door to my office suite will be propped open for you to limit contact with high touch surfaces like doorknobs as well as to maintain six feet of social distance upon arrival.
  • You will be provided and required to use hand sanitizer upon entering the office suite and during your visit.
  • You will take a seat in the chair next to the door and have your temperature taken with a contactless thermometer. It will be recorded and you will answer a series of COVID-19 screening questions before we begin.
  • Once cleared you may go directly into the assigned treatment room.

Treatment

  • The intake portion of the treatment will take place in the treatment room, with masks on and maintaining six feet of distance between us.
  • The needling portion will require us to be closer than six feet so masks must be worn throughout the session.
  • New patients will have an initial telemedicine visit, followed by an in-person treatment to limit prolonged contact.
  • Regular hand washing and hand sanitizing will be utilized before, during, and after treatment by the patient and practitioner.
  • When your treatment is finished, I will be available to open doors for you in order to limit exposure with a high contact surface.

Payment

  • Payment is by cash, check, or credit card in a contactless form.
  • If you pay by check or cash your payment will be accepted in a contactless way. Cash payments must be in the exact amount of the treatment fee.
  • If you pay by credit card, an invoice will be emailed to you which you can pay online.
  • Credit Card payment is required within 24 hours of service. Habitual late payments will result in a prepayment option only for future visits.

Cleaning

  • The treatment tables and all surfaces in the treatment room will be cleaned with an EPA-approved cleaner which kills the Novel Coronavirus.
  • All linens will be changed after each patient (already standard practice).
  • Treatment rooms will be alternated between patients to allow for cleaning and air circulation.
  • No one is permitted beyond the lobby or treatment rooms (back office or kitchen area).
  • The property management of the building has increased the cleaning of high touch surfaces in common areas throughout the day.

These policies and procedures are based on CDC and national acupuncture governing body recommendations. They are subject to change in light of new regulations for COVID-19.
